Overview

Many graduate schools, including Master’s programs, MBA programs and Doctoral programs throughout the world require that prospective students pass the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). The GRE assesses whether an applicant has the necessary skills and abilities to succeed in a graduate-level academic program by measuring key skills such as Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning. A number of top-tier universities in the USA, Canada, Europe and Singapore (among other regions) use GRE scores as part of their admission process.

ETS (Educational Testing Service) administers the GRE and offers the GRE General Test and GRE Subject Test (also known as the GRE Subject Area Exams). The GRE General Test assesses overall academic ability, whereas the GRE Subject Test is used to assess the student’s level of knowledge and ability to apply advanced concepts within a particular field (i.e., Mathematics, Physics, or Psychology). Students can take the GRE all year long and have the ability to schedule their test when it is most convenient for them. In addition, there is an option for students to take the GRE at Home.
